THE WSO & THE MAGIC OF CIRQUE – Tickets On Sale Now

Winnipeg, MB - September 21, 2009 – Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) Resident Conductor Richard Lee will play ringmaster to musicians, jugglers, contortionists, strongmen, and aerial acrobats as the WSO presents Cirque de la Symphonie. The event will be the first time the WSO has fused the spectacle of Cirque with the live rush of energy of its pops concerts. Tickets for the 2009-2010 season are still available, and individual Cirque de la Symphonie tickets are on sale now.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Cirque de la Symphonie to Winnipeg,” says WSO Music Director Alexander Mickelthwate, “this year’s Pops series is about innovation, evolution and breaking new ground. The synergy of the WSO and Cirque will certainly create a sensory experience like no other.”
Cirque de la Symphonie features some of the finest cirque artists in the world performing with full, world-class symphony orchestras. The combination of these two art forms provides an energized performance that looks as great as it sounds. Audiences everywhere are thrilled as aerialists fly overhead and acrobatic feats are performed to classical masterpieces and memorable contemporary music.
