The WSO is committed to providing performance opportunities for young musicians in our community. Each season, numerous local music schools and students perform on the Piano Nobile Level of the Centennial Concert Hall prior to the concert. These young musicians add a wonderful prelude to our Pops and Soundbytes concerts throughout the season.

Musicians in the Making is a great opportunity to hear talented young musicians from Winnipeg’s musical community. Performers from Manitoba Conservatory of Music and the Arts, University of Manitoba Preparatory Division, Canadian Mennonite University, University of Manitoba Faculty of Music, Winnipeg Youth Orchestras and the Suzuki program have all participated in these pre-concert performances. These young musicians perform 45 minutes prior to each WSO Pops and Musically Speaking concerts.
